By Mogadishu, 1 January 2024- The Former president of Somalia H.E Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has strongly condemned the illegal agreement signed on Monday by the prime minister of Ethiopia and the president of Somaliland.
“The illegal agreement reached today by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and the President of Somaliland violates the sovereignty of our country and is against the international law.
We call on the Ethiopian government to maintain and respect the good neighborliness and good relations between our two countries.”
“We call on the Somali people everywhere to unite for the protection of their unity, dignity, and resources of their country”.
Lastly, we call on the Federal Government of Somalia to issue an urgent decision on this issue and clarify its position and what is going on with the illegal agreement.
