By Mogadishu, 1 January 2024- Hon. Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame who is a member of the Somali Federal Parliament and a leader of the Wadajir Party has strongly condemned the MoU signed in Addis-Ababa and pointed out that it violated the sovereignty and independence of Somali nation.
The MP said it also violated the conventions of the United Nations, the African and IGAD Regional Organization.
“The administration of Abiy Ahmed in the Ethiopian government has violated the sovereignty and independence of the Somali nation. He also violated the conventions of the United Nations, the African Union, and the IGAD Regional Organization, all of which make it difficult to preserve the independence and sovereignty of the states that are members of these organizations.”
“I am confident that the executive branch, both houses of Parliament, and the people of Somalia will give a worthy response to the abuse of Abiy Ahmed’s administration, I emphasize that this moment is the moment of unity and solidarity to face the national threat and the greed of Ethiopia”
“The threatening statements coming out of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia in the last few days were worrying, and the step he took today is threatening the good neighborliness of the two countries, and leading to instability in the region”
