By LM-Nairobi, 9 January 2024. The Somali Ambassador to Kenya, Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle engaged in a highly productive meeting with the United States Ambassador to Kenya Mss. Margaret Whitman The meeting, held in Nairobi served as a significant milestone in fostering closer ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, Ambassadors Abdulle and Whitman engaged in fruitful discussions on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including regional security, economic cooperation, and diplomatic collaboration. Both ambassadors expressed their commitment to deepening the strong and historical ties that exist between Somalia and the United States.
The discussions centered on strategic areas of cooperation, such as counterterrorism efforts, humanitarian assistance, capacity building, and trade relations. The ambassadors recognized the importance of joint efforts in addressing common challenges and advancing shared objectives, aiming for stability, peace, and prosperity in the region.
Ambassador Jabril emphasized the United States’ continued support for Somalia’s development and the strengthening of its institutions. They reaffirmed the commitment of the United States to collaborate with Somalia in areas such as governance, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.
