Privacy of telecommunications is a crucial aspect of modern society, as it involves the protection of individual’s personal information and communication data. Here are some key points regarding the privacy of telecommunication.
The action that NISA forces committed on Sunday was strongly denounced by Political officials and Civil society and called for the government to respect the national law and protect Hormuud which provides inclusive services to Somali people. This action comes at a time when Hormuud staff were experiencing insecurity issues.
Balancing telecommunication privacy with national security is a complex issue. Governments may have legitimate reasons to monitor and intercept communications in certain cases, such as investigating criminal activities or preventing terrorism. However, such surveillance should be conducted within the bounds of the law, with proper oversight and checks to prevent abuse of power.
