By LM-Garowe, 4 January 2024- Mr. Abdirizak Ahmed Said has worn to be the chairman of the House of the Representatives of Puntland State 2024-2029 after the election of the parliamentary committee of the Puntland State was held in Garowe on Thursday as announced by the Election Commission.
Puntland has been in political tense due to the election disputes between Said Abdullahi Deni and other presidential candidates.
The opposition leaders in Garowe opposed different decrees issued by the outgoing president of Puntland Mr. Said Abdullahi Deni regarding the elections.
The location Security where the election is taking place has been tightened; security forces have been deployed on some roads and the deputy chairperson of the parliament is expected to be elected soon.
Puntland has made significant efforts to establish stability and governance within its environment. It has its president, parliament, and judicial system. The State has been relatively peaceful compared to other parts of Somalia, with a focus on economic development, infrastructure projects, and the provision of basic services to its population.
