SNA officially took over the security of the presidential palace after 16 years

Mogadishu, December 17, 2023; The Somali National Army today officially took over the general security of the Presidency, after 16 years of the brothers of the African forces of AMISOM playing a role in securing the security of the Presidency and the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

The event was held at Villa Somalia and was attended by the Commander of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyiddin, the Director General of the Presidency, Mr. Abdihakim Mohamed Yusuf and representatives of the African Union and the United Nations in Somalia.

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who congratulated the 77th Brigade of the National Army on taking over the security responsibility of the Heads of the country, pointed out the significance of this move, which reflects the return of the strength and power of the Somali Armed Forces.

The Commander of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Ibrahim Sheikh inspected the Presidential Security Forces and showed them how they are prepared to secure the security of the Heads of the country, and he thanked the officers and soldiers of ATMIS for helping to secure the security of the leadership of the country for many years.
