Somali Delegation Attends 148th Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference

Mogadishu (LM) A high-level delegation from Somalia, led by Mr. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, the Second Deputy Chairman of the Federal Parliament of Somalia People’s Assembly, attends the 148th Conference of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Mr. Abshirow is leading the Somali delegation at the 148th IPU Conference. He is expected to deliver a long speech to the participants at the end of the 148th Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. -Parliamentary Union”.

Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle Jaabiri, The Secretary General of the People’s Assembly accompanies the delegation Mr. Abdinasir Ibrahim Guled, he Secretary General of the Upper House of Somalia’s Parliament, Mr. Guled, is also part of the delegation. His presence highlights the commitment of both Houses of Parliament in actively participating in the conference.

Building Bridges of Peace and Understanding The 148th IPU Conference centers around the theme of parliamentary diplomacy, emphasizing the role of parliamentarians in fostering peace and understanding among nations. The conference aims to explore ways in which parliamentary diplomacy can contribute to building bridges between countries and resolving conflicts through dialogue and cooperation.

Mr. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, as the Second Deputy Chairman of the Federal Parliament of Somalia  People’s Assembly and the leader of the Somali delegation, is expected to play a significant role in the conference.
