Iran’s foreign minister talks to Saudi counterpart after Israel attack

ranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud discussed the latest developments in the region in a phone call.

The Iranian foreign ministry said in a statement Amirabdollahian highlighted diplomatic efforts to seek justice after “aggressive and criminal measures” by Israel in its April 1 attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria.

He noted no action has been taken to condemn Israel by the international community after the deadly strikes.

“The minister of foreign affairs of our country further described the action of the armed forces of our country in response to the attack of the Zionist regime on the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus in the framework of legitimate defence in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter,” the statement said.
