By Asma (LM) The President of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, visited Somali Air Force units that are receiving training at the Eritrean Air Force (EAF) base in Asmara, Eritrea. The president of Somalia was accompanied by the President of Eritrea, Mr. Isaias Afwerki, during this visit, Mohamud Saluted the Somali army personnel. He observed the conditions they were training in and listened to reports from some of the Somali officers and soldiers undergoing the training.
After this visit, President Mohamud concluded his trip to Asmara, Eritrea. This appears to be a significant visit, as it involves the top leadership of Somalia and Eritrea coming together to oversee the training of Somali military forces on Eritrean soil.
It likely reflects ongoing security cooperation and coordination between the two countries, particularly in the area of military capacity building.
