LM- Mogadishu: In a remarkable display of solidarity and commitment to national defense issue, higher education institutions led by the Chairman of the Association of Somali Universities-ASU Prof. Mohamed Mohamud Hassan (Dr. Bidey) has greatly appreciated the large demonstration today by the Somali community to express their spirit against the Ethiopian-Somaliland MoU signed on 1st January 20204 in Addis-Ababa.
Students, faculty members, and administrators from various universities gathered together, emphasizing the importance of national issues and calling for immediate action to protect our oceans.
The demonstration, organized by an Association of higher education institutions aimed to raise awareness about the grave threats facing our sea.
The administration of the Association of Somali Universities thanked to the Heads, administration, teachers, and students of the country’s universities for their honorable participation in the demonstration that showed the feelings of Somali citizens toward the defense of the country, people, and religion.
Representatives from the participating higher education institutions addressed the crowd, underscoring their dedication to environmental stewardship and the role of education in driving positive change. They emphasized the need for interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific research, and community engagement to address the complex challenges associated with sea violations and marine degradation.
