Somali President attending Italy-Africa Summit in Rome

Rome (LM) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Prof. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and his delegation have arrived in Rome, Italy on Sunday where they will participate in the Italy-Africa Summit, which is an important gathering of leaders from Africa and Europe.

In this meeting, the President of the Republic will make a speech focusing on economic cooperation, facilitating traffic and security issues, and also, he will also present the importance of stability in the region, respect for the principles of independence and territorial integrity of the countries, he will stand in particular on the violation against the independence of Somalia that Ethiopia recently dared.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will highlight Somalia’s relentless efforts to fight terrorism and rebuild the military.

During the meeting, the President is expected to hold bilateral meetings with leaders and officials such as Mr. Azali Assoumani, the President of the Comoros, the Chairperson of the African Union, The President of the Republic of Kenya, Mr. William Ruto, The President of Eritrea Mr. Isaias Afwerki and  Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms. Kristalina Georgieva.

Leaders and representatives from Italy and various African nations will gather in Rome for the highly anticipated Italy-Africa Summit, aimed at fostering stronger partnerships and exploring opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.

The summit serves as a platform for dialogues, discussions, and agreements between Italy and African countries, to enhance economic cooperation, trade relations, and cultural exchanges. The event will highlight the shared commitment to forging mutually beneficial partnerships and addressing common challenges.
