By The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Mr. Fei Shengchao.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the Chinese government for its strong stance in support of the independence and presidency of the Federal Republic of Somalia, expressing its importance in maintaining international law and stability in the Horn of Africa, which is central to international peace.
During the meeting, President Mohamud and Ambassador Shengchao exchanged views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, infrastructure development, and security collaboration. They emphasized the need for continued engagement and cooperation to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in Somalia. The ambassador shared with the president China’s support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Federal Republic of Somalia.
Chinese Ambassador Mr. Fei Shengchao pointed out that the People’s Republic of China recognizes Somaliland as a part of the territory of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and is strengthening the protection of the United Nations Convention.
