Somalia’s Minister of Planning had a productive meeting with Qatari Investors

L-M, Mogadishu- The Somali Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, Mr. Mohamud Abdirahman Farah (Beenebeene), received and held a productive meeting Sunday with a delegation of investors seeking opportunities in Somalia. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Planning, focused on discussing investment prospects, addressing concerns, and exploring avenues for collaboration to promote economic growth and development.

The delegation of investors from Qatar, comprised of representatives from various industries and sectors, expressed their interest in investing in Somalia. They presented their plans, highlighting potential areas of investment, such as infrastructure development, renewable energy, manufacturing, technology, and tourism. The investors emphasized their confidence in the country’s economic potential and their commitment to contributing to its progress.

Minister Benebene welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for their interest in Somalia.  He emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and economic prosperity. The Minister highlighted the country’s stable political climate, skilled workforce, strategic geographical location, and various incentives offered to investors, including tax breaks and streamlined regulatory processes.

The meeting was part of the ongoing efforts of the Somali government to attract foreign investment and diversify its sources of income. The Minister of Planning thanked the Qatari investors for their visit and expressed his hope that it would lead to fruitful partnerships and mutual benefits
